Global Recycling Day was created in 2018 to help recognize, and celebrate, the importance recycling plays in preserving our precious primary resources and securing the future of our planet. It is a day for the world to come together, and put the planet first.

Our mission is twofold:

To tell world leaders that recycling is simply too important not to be a global issue, and that a common, joined up approach to recycling is urgently needed.
To ask people across the planet to think resource, not waste, when it comes to the goods around us – until this happens we simply won’t award recycled goods the true value and repurpose they deserve.

Brainerd International Raceway: Races & Events 2023

BIR has built a reputation as a world-class raceway. Located right in the heart of the Brainerd Lakes Area, Brainerd International Raceway offers great entertainment for all ages. Road racing, drag racing, and motorcycle racing events are just the beginning. Races and race events at BIR often include live entertainment from great bands. Many of the events also feature other activities such as car shows and fireworks

Wednesday Night Street Drags April 26, May 3, May 24, June 7, June 28, July 19, August 30, September 6

The Wednesday Night Drags - Street Legal Style program is a chance for anyone with a street-legal car, truck or motorcycle to race on Brainerd International Raceway's world-class drag strip or try their hand at either drifting or autocross. Experienced drivers will be on hand to answer questions for those who are trying it for the first time. Drag racers use the light tree, the burnout box and the scoreboard. We even have an announcer calling the action. Gates open at 4 p.m. Racing starts at 5 p.m. and ends at dusk.

Bracket Drag Racing Series May 5-7, May 19-21, June 2-4, July 21-23, September 22-24

Brainerd International Raceway's Bracket Drag Racing Series kicks off the season on the drag strip. The series features 250-plus drivers competing in 11 classes in dragsters, cars, trucks, bikes, snowmobiles and Junior Dragsters. Friday is a Test & Tune day and then the battles begin Saturday with time trials and eliminations both Saturday and Sunday. Winners are crowned both days! At BIR, the pits are always open. CRA Superbike Racing July 28-30

The Central Roadracing Association brings its crazy brand of Superbike racing to Brainerd International Raceway’s historic 3.1-mile Donnybrooke Road Course. Superbike racers challenge the track’s 10 turns, taking the corners on two wheels and a knee. It’s a thrill a minute and great racing action. Annual Street Car Showdown May 26-28

Brainerd International Raceway's Muscle Car Series kicks off Memorial Day weekend during the Annual Street Car Showdown, a display of serious speed and horsepower on the quarter-mile drag strip. The Showdown is the first race in the three-race series, which features cars that can run 6-7 seconds at over 200 mph. They have the kind of horsepower that yanks their front end off the ground at the starting line. The event also includes the SCCA Harvey West Classic on the road course. The SCCA brings great wheel-to-wheel racing action to the road course on Saturday and Sunday. Two exciting events for the price of a single ticket! On-site camping. Wet & Wild Weekend June 3-4, September 23-24

Brainerd International Raceway’s Wet & Wild Weekend is jammed full of wild motorsports. It brings together drag racing, the North Star BMW Car Club, autocross and watercross, where snowmobiles race on open water! The International Watercross Association is on Lake BIR for drag racing and oval racing while the BMW Car Club is on the road course for a club event. And the drag strip hosts the third weekend of the Bracket Drag Racing Series, where 250+ dragsters, cars, trucks and bikes will be battling during eliminations on Saturday and Sunday. A new addition to the weekend is the Minnesota Autosports Club, which will feature autocross. There’s something for everyone! Three great racing events for one ticket! On-site camping is available. MAP Proving Grounds June 9-11, September 8-10

Import cars and sport compacts take over Brainerd International Raceway for a wild weekend of drag racing, drifting, autocross, open lapping, car shows, burnout contests and much more. The Modern Automotive Performance Proving Grounds has quickly become one of the biggest events at BIR, so don't miss it! On-site camping is available. Every ticket includes a pit pass. Annual PleasureLand RV Show & Go June 30-2

The Annual PleasureLand RV Show & Go is a great Fourth of July tradition, offering race fans a chance to see ridiculous head-to-head drag racing action, thrilling road racing, fireworks, a classic car show, live music and more. On the drag strip, the second race in the three-race Muscle Car Series features more than 300 cars, some of which can run over 200 mph! Two great racing events for the price of a single ticket! Brainerd International Raceway is opening its paved pro pads for drifting only. It’s as much fun to watch as it is to participate. Watch as novice and experienced drivers navigate the course in controlled skids. Drivers can give it a try, as experienced drifters will be on hand to answer questions and help you get started. time. Gates open at 4 p.m. Drifting starts at 5 p.m. and ends at dusk.

Powercruise May 12-14, August 4-6

Powercruise, the premier modified car event in the country, returns to Brainerd International Raceway this year. It's known as the place where you can do everything with your car that you’re not allowed to do anywhere else. Powercruise allows you to drive your car on BIR's race track along with other like-minded petrol heads in the cruising sessions, where you can cruise next to the toughest modified street machines, hot rods, imports and drag cars, whether they're turbo charged, supercharged, nitrous injected…all with your family and friends in the car with you! The weekend includes events like powerskids (longest rolling burnouts), off-street drags (old-style street flag drop), drifting, burnouts Aussie-style, Dyno comps, Show & Shine, Miss Powercruise stage shows and heaps more fun stuff. Annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals August 17-20, 2023

The Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals features the world's fastest cars, the most skilled drivers and a legion of crazy race fans who can't get enough of the thunderous power pumped out by a 11,000-horsepower dragster flying down the drag strip at over 330 mph. Behind the wheel are the biggest names in drag racing: John Force, Antron Brown, Ron Capps and more. Every ticket includes a pit pass where you can see crews tear down and rebuild cars between runs, and where you can meet your favorite drivers for autographs. Annual GSTA Muscle Car Shootout September 1-3, 2023

The Annual GSTA Muscle Car Shootout is a great way to cap off your summer, with wild drag racing, insane Superbike racing, live music, a classic car show and more. Sponsored by the Gopher State Timing Association, the Shootout features the third and final drag race in the Muscle Car Series, with drag cars that can run 6-7 seconds at over 230 mph. This race will determine series champions, so the intensity level will be sky high. BIR’s road course will be busy with the Central Roadracing Association’s amazing brand of Superbike racing, where riders will take on the tight 13-turn track. Practice sessions are Friday, followed by qualifying and racing both Saturday and Sunday. On-site camping available. One ticket gets you these great events and every ticket includes a pit pass. Lakes Jam June 21-24

Lakes Jam is a annual event that unites rock and country music fans from all walks of life and brings them together in the Brainerd Lakes area!

Located in lakes country on the grounds of Brainerd International Raceway, the area boasts beautiful scenery and allows Lakes Jam to offer optimal camping and weekend fun. Founded in 2012, Lakes Jam intends to deliver a line-up from an array of excellent live performing artists every year. Each year will be different, fresh and exciting!

Bir is a small town located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Bir Billing is a popular destination located in Joginder Nagar valley known for paragliding and also as the town for meditation . There is an influence of Tibetan culture due to Tibetan community settlement in this town.
